cooling unit for wine cellar

Split System Wine Cellar Cooling Units

Sort by

8 products

A split system separates the cooling unit into two parts: an evaporator that conditions the cellar and a condenser placed outside the cellar, often outdoors or in a mechanical room. Because the compressor and its heat sit away from the wine, a split system is one of the quietest ways to cool a cellar and the usual choice for larger rooms and for cellars that open onto living space.

Ductless and ducted split systems

  • Ductless split: the evaporator mounts on the cellar wall or ceiling and connects to the condenser with refrigerant lines. Examples: WhisperKOOL Platinum Split ductless models.
  • Ducted split: the evaporator sits outside the cellar and moves air through short ducts, so nothing but supply and return grilles is visible. Examples: Wine Guardian DS series and WhisperKOOL Platinum Split ducted models.

Split systems are connected with refrigerant lines and are installed by a licensed HVAC technician.
